The capo felt as if the restaurant was finally prepared. The vents had been cleared by a trusted solider to check for bugs or actual spies. The exits were guarded by snipers, and the police bribed to stay out of the area for the night. Outside the night was deadly still, and inside the darkened restaurant it was just as dead save for a pungent taste of the food that had been cooked in the past hours that hovered on the humid air.
He sat before a table set with appetizers of calamari and bruschetta, served upon elegant chinaware. This was at the insistence of their patron, Anslem had insisted they be served the least expensive wine at least. The Italian man had sniffed, obviously not keen on the idea anyone should doubt the quality of his restaurant. He had made the motions of complying, but upon tasting the Zinfandel, the taste was too full for Anslem to consider proper to serve to enemies.
Verdammt spaghetti-fresseren, he sneered to himself as he poured himself his own glass of schnapps as he waited for their rivals to arrive. He shifted back as looked around the well lit back room. He glanced at Masque, if this was a time to shine, it was hers.

Anslem's trust in her was not to be doubted, and Velia had absolutely no doubts in her mind that he was putting the entire success of this negotiation on her. What she did doubt, however, was her own ability. Was she really going to be able to match wits with the Innocenzo's no doubt seasoned veteran? Hopefully so. After all, the London police were rather simply coerced...
The girl wore a nice dress, a flat red, and enough makeup to look passable. Earrings were noticeably absent, though, as they were easily abused in a physical brawl.
Though, hopefully, it won't come to that. Nonviolence is the best way to approach this, though...
She reached down to the only area that they wouldn't immediately check: the front of her panties, which contained as an impromptu holster one of Anslem's hand guns, the dress's slit allowing her to easily draw it in an emergency.
Sitting at the table, legs tastefully crossed and eyes professionally looking their opponents in the face, hands gracefully interlocked and set upon the table, and hair elegantly brushed, she waited. Waited for the start sight, waited for her opponents to state their first move, and waited for the nightmare of anticipation to be over.

This whole trip was turning out to be nothing but disaster for the young capo. As if was, he’d only managed to sleep the four hours before leaving as he had been ill on the plane. The blonde had been polite enough to go to the bathroom so that the rest of his companions didn’t need to be disgusted by his state, but Adrienne’s badgering and mocking hadn’t exactly helped to settle his stomach. He hadn’t even managed to recover enough to eat before having to leave for the meeting, so here he was, exhausted, nauseous and shivering like a pathetic child. The perfect first impression for the people who you were supposed to be trying to subvert.
Amel coughed and shivered against the cold evening air, reaching his hands deeper into his jacket pockets as he and his two companions made their way through the dark Italian streets. Arriving at the back door to the restaurant that they had been told to go to, he finally turned back to his two family members, wiping his mouth on his sleeve and running a hand through his hair to at least attempt to look presentable.
“Ayers, please be alert. Only draw your weapon if you feel that the situation warrants it. I don’t want this to turn into a bloody shootout, but if it does, I’m leaving our lives in your hands,” he said, turning to Samir. “Sorge, please stick close to Ayers. I will greet them first, they’re expecting me to put on the impression of a leader. However, after greetings are settled, I’m leaving the actual parlance to you. Prepare yourselves.”
With that, he knocked on the door. They were soon greeted with a rugged looking gentleman who did not speak, simply held out a hand to usher them inside and through the kitchen into the main dining hall where the meeting was to take place. The smell of food made Amel's stomach turn, but he managed to keep his face stoic as they were lead inside.

Adrienne spent the trip smirking at Amel’s back. She knew that she shouldn’t have taken pleasure in seeing the illustrious capo giving into something as blasé as motion sickness, but it did give her satisfaction to witness that for all his hubris, this was what he really was; a weak child. Never mind that she also became queasy at that altitude, but she at least managed to fight it off.
Dressed in a tight pair of dark jeans, dress shirt and tight leather jacket, she wasn’t exactly society’s image of a professional woman. But she would hardly have a place to put her gun in some tight skimpy dress, and the tight clothing meant that if these pussies didn’t want to pat her down, they wouldn’t need to. It didn’t exactly leave much to the imagination. Her gun was tucked into a holster in the small of her back, her most comfortable spot for drawing quickly as she followed the two boys, watching their backs as she glanced up and down the streets. Seeing a flash of light from the top of a building, she was almost certain that it was a sharpshooter’s gun reflecting the streetlight. As expected of their rivals; they weren’t willing to leave anything to chance.
“Don’t worry, I know,” she answered, bracing her feet and flexing her arms, preparing to reach for her gun if someone less than savory happened to greet them at the door.

Samir glanced back at Adrienne; he could at least trust her to do her actual job; now if she just kept her opinionated mouth shut they be fine. He sighed at his capo’s impromptu grooming, and helped the man by brushing a few dislodged blond hairs off the shoulder of his black suit. At least he was no longer vomiting. Samir was uncertain how the Liberatores react to a barely disgusted meal on the negotiating table.
He was of course as fastidious as ever in his best suit and shined shoes, deciding to go for looks over apprehension of that filthy German’s fingers mussing his suit. Nag Champa hovered around him as he slid off his jacket and folded it, knowing he would be asked to do so for the pat-down. He made an indication for Amel do the same.
The look he gave Adrienne perhaps suggested he didn’t necessarily approve of her outfit that required no such precaution.
He nodded at the gentleman, but when he was looking sneered at his taste of artwork on the walls. Such cliché tastes, as if every other Italian restaurant did not have beach scenes and romantic canals lining their walls. The wine had better at least be decent.

At being told his ‘guests’ were here, Anslem stood, and made an indication for Masque to do the same. The standing was not for respect but merely to show they were alert and ready. As the Innocenzos entered the room Anslem made certain to push his coat slightly back to reveal one pistol in a holster on his thigh. Along with his own ironed shirt, red tie, and slacks, unlike perhaps the others he was wearing combat boots over loafers. He hoped Masque would be able to maneuver just as well in her shoes if it was so necessary.
He looked over the three of them, a woman, an Arab, and a small blond young man. Which one of them was the capo, the negotiator, and the bodyguard? The woman was automatically not the capo, so his gaze shifted between the Arab and the blond, recalling a British accent. The Arab could have one but it was far more likely to be this puny looking man.
Anslem couldn’t help but to smirk, you don’t make much of an impression, do you, Allen?
“Signore Allen I presume?” he asked sardonically, true he didn’t know if it was a first or last name, but it worked either way. “I am the capo, this is my negotiator, and this is my consigulerie.”
He moved a hand towards the gun; he highly doubted their guard was as fast as he was.
“Now I must ask you to line up against that wall, facing it, legs apart, hands up, I’m sure you’re familiar with the procedure,” the gun was not yet drawn, but it was obvious it would be if he was not allowed to take charge.

When Samir motioned for him to remove his jacket, he did so without hesitation. Folding it nervously in his hands, he tucked the arms in and draped it over one arm, faithfully following the man into the main room. The lavish decorations hadn’t changed since the last time he was here, and he couldn’t help but to take one very brief glace at the stage. Letting his eyes wander that side of the room, he checked the curtains making sure that they weren’t hanging awkwardly to conceal a sniped hiding behind them. No, it seemed like everyone that was here was standing out in the open.
Amel glanced across the table at the members of the Liberatore family. A skinny, shifty looking man, a young looking woman and a brunette with a gun at his waist. He’s the capo then, and he wants me to know it. Amel kept his expression neutral as he kept his gaze planted on the capo, not trying to look intimidating, but obviously as though he was analyzing him. He looked exactly as Amel had expected after hearing his voice on the phone; far taller and stronger of a man who moved with the grace of someone that had mastered combat, and the blonde couldn't help but feel uncomfortable and somehow lesser because of his frail appearance. “Pleasure to make your acquaintance,” he replied with all the charm of someone at a social dinner party, making sure to keep his tone strong. The capo still hadn’t given a name though, which was bothersome and a bit insulting.
He didn’t speak as he turned towards the wall, simply nodding for his companions to do the same. His legs apart, fingers fanned, arms above his head and jacket in hand, he leaned against the wall, not giving any signs of resistance. This needed to go off without a hitch, and Amel wasn’t willing to cock it up with mixed signals.

Ignoring Samir’s angry glare, Adrienne shrugged her jacket off as well, before watching the exchange between the two capos. They may as well have just taken out their dicks and compared length and girth for all of the other sizing up they were doing. Men. The girl still standing behind the table was intriguing though. So this was the girl that was the capo’s new favorite? Adrienne smiled politely at the young girl, doing a bit of sizing up of her own. She looks strong enough, but it’s certainly nothing that I can’t handle.
When the capo told them to face the wall, she watched Amel move first, making certain to let him take the lead. His position commanded respect, even if she felt that he didn’t always deserve it, and if they let their façade down in any way they lost the upper hand. She faltered a moment, letting her gaze linger with the Liberatore capo’s a bit longer than necessary. She had promised Amel that she wouldn’t say anything crude, but he hadn’t said anything about bodily expression.
Turning herself around, she kept her eyes on him over her shoulder as she leaned against the wall, her back arched in a way that looked innocent if it hadn’t been for the sultry expression on her face, daring him to touch her in a way that went beyond a simple pat down. Completing her ruse, she licked her lips and winked salaciously, hardly able to keep herself from giggling. The situation might have been tense, but she would still have her fun. The gun in its holster were plainly visible in the small of her back, but she wasn't afraid that the capo would say anything. They were allowed one weapon after all, right? Try to take it from me and I'll rip your face apart with my bare hands, Kraut.

Samir eyed his rivals, it was obvious who the capo was, but his gaze shifted between the other man and the girl. From the way she was dressed the girl had to be the negotiator, and while perhaps there was something sultry about the dress at least she was not trying to visually whore herself. Samir could respect her a little for that. He bowed lowly at her, and another woman he would have offered to kiss her hand, but this one he felt like would have just bit him like a venomous snake from the cold look in her blue eyes. So he smiled nicely and silently followed his capo’s lead.
His expression hidden he gritted his teeth at the spectacle Adrienne insisted on making of herself. He looked darkly at Allen over his arm. You wanted to bring her. He doubted the Liberatore negotiator be so catty, and she looked younger. He sighed, hoping they at least got throw the pat-down without an unnecessary battle. He didn’t even have his dagger on him, and Samir wasn’t certain how good he was at ducking.

This... This slut! Anslem would never touch you! Never, never, never, never! Not a whore like you, a woman who lets men have her without even paying! You're worse than those lechers that pay for their commodity; you value yourself as shit, and you really don't care!
She kept professional, however, only glaring slightly at the woman and, with a bit of a remark in mind, a smirk. "Please, don't practice such bad habits here. It's not appropriate for the setting. A brothel, perhaps..."

Well at the surface this seemed to be going smoothly. They lined up, and even already had their jackets off. Anslem looked over the Innocenzos with a confident glance and strode cautiously up to them, his hand still on his pistol.
He finally noticed the salacious attention the woman was giving him.
He blushed because he was unused to women flirting with him who had not been paid to do so.
He gritted his teeth because he was, and he knew then she was doing it just to gall him, and he was angry he had been taken in for even a second.
He almost appreciated Masque’s cool remark. He glanced at her over his shoulder though with a plea to stay silent for now. They couldn’t fall for any intimidation tactics right now. He didn’t ponder though why this had caused the girl to remark. He simply took the capo’s coat, choosing to go by rank. He checked the pockets, and finding nothing, gave it back.
No one may have seen, but in the front breast pocket there was now a white envelope with a certain invitation inside.
He professionally patted the man down, quick and easily, only noting the frail feel of his body. The Arab was next, and that man too was smoothly checked over even if he detected a hint of a sneer in his expression as he did so. At least Allen keeps his word, all the better for his impromptu decision to get to know him better if he could.
The woman was last, and obviously the guard. He met her eyes with his own, warning her to not tempt him; he wasn’t going to bite. He left her weapon alone as he tried to conclude her pat down as fast as possible without possibly missing anything.

Amel shook his head in annoyance at his ex-rival. You’re overstepping your boundaries, Adrienne. What the fuck else am I supposed to do to make you stay in line? He accepted the pat down without complaint, standing as still as he possibly could until the capo was done. Once his jacket was returned to him, he took it, but didn’t put it back on. He wanted to wait for the unnamed capo to tell him to. Jump when told to; that was the tactic that he was going for. They couldn’t arise any suspicion from the Liberatores, so they would play the role of the perfect submissive leader for now.
He shivered and sniffled quietly, wanting nothing more than to get his jacket back on and sit down. Hopefully they’re cordial enough to provide warm coffee. Lots of it.

You’re adorable when you blush she thought as she watched the capo’s reaction. She was only upset when he seemed to become upset far too soon. Ah, so he was more than just a dick; the blood seemed to be rushing to the right head at the moment. A shame, he was even more delicious looking upset than Samir when he was embarrassed. Adrienne turned back to the young girl, her face still nothing but polite and cordial even if inside she was cursing this little bitch for insulting her so badly. “My apologies, meisje, I’ll be good,” she said with a small giggle. You can’t break me, you fucking cunt. You'll pay for that comment later...
Happy that he hadn’t taken her weapon, she glanced over at Amel, waiting for him to give the okay for them all to sit down. She’d had her fun, it was time to get down to business now. She noticed the shiver and sniffle from her capo and gave him a small look of concern. He never did handle the cold weather well, and even if it was fairly warm in this room, he was still sensitive, especially as they had just walked in off the street. But she didn't say anything, just glanced back down at her feet and awaited further instruction.

Samir frowned at the exchange between the two women. He glanced at the Liberatore, are you just being frank, or are you perhaps upset she tried to make a move on your leader? He recalled their haphazard information she may be the capo’s favorite. He could read nothing in the man’s expression however concerning the girl. He looked down, well at least someone called Adrienne out, Allah knows Allen wouldn’t.
Not that he cared who she flirted with, even the Liberatore capo as if she had no shame.
At least the girl knows what is shameful behavior, he gritted his teeth, he still resolved to not feel personally offended by Adrienne’s behavior, there was no cause for it! He didn’t wait to be told to put his jacket on, a good sign he was distracted, but he was smiling when he turned to face the table.
It was their turn now, and Samir couldn’t help but to give Adrienne a glare.
Please don’t do something inappropriate just to gall that girl.
A catfight be counter-productive.

Anslem nodded at the Innocenzo group, raising an eyebrow at the shivering of the capo. He smirked, why are you so polite? Did a nun used to beat you if you didn’t say thank you? No wonder he was never on the front lines, you couldn’t stop a battle by saying ‘please’. Not to mention he was reminded of a small dog in the winter by him. Still I should be careful, it could all be an act, and he certainly would not be the first one to do so. I’m certain Masque at least can tell the difference.
“You can put your jackets back on,” he said as he turned to face Masque, nodding at her, it was their turn now, the ruse had to be completed. He slid off his coat, whose pockets he had taken care to completely empty. He revealed his simple though formal outfit and the holster on his thigh which carried his pistol.
He assumed the position with a professional air.
